The banking app is made to make managing your money simpler. Now it’s even easier to securely bank how you want, when you want. We’re currently working on new features based on what our members tell us.

What our app does
Our banking app is just for members. A safe and secure way to manage your everyday banking needs.
- Manage your payments – set up, cancel and amend standing orders within the app. You can cancel Direct Debits too.
- Search for or scan transactions at a glance – the app shows you anything pending and includes easy identifiers like brand logos and the organisation’s location and contact details.
- Set savings goals and your own contactless payment limits or turn off contactless altogether.
- If you ever find gambling becomes a problem for you, use the app to set up a gambling block.
- Set text alerts to let you know, for example, when you’re about to go overdrawn.
- Share account details – hold down the account and then copy and paste the details.
- Round up your spending and save the extra directly into your savings account.
- Customise your app home screen. You can choose slimmer account tiles and remove account type headers to see more on your screen.
Bank safely and securely
Log in with your passnumber. Or choose fingerprint or face recognition, if your device allows.

Once you have set up biometrics on your account, you will be able to confirm new payments with your fingerprint or face recognition. (We will ask you to take a selfie.)
Freeze your debit card if you can’t find it, unfreeze it if it turns up.
Need to confirm your ID? If you’re shopping online, simply do it through our app.
Logging you out automatically in case you forget or leave your mobile or tablet somewhere.
Our banking app is an increasingly handy tool
However you like to bank with us, our app makes it easier and quicker. We’ve made thecard readeroptional, and with each new release, we are adding more features to our app. It already comes with many of the features that people want from their banking app.

Notifications through the app | Sometimes when we’re worried about a payment, we block it and so need to contact you urgently. In-app notifications will enable us to do that straightaway and enable you to get back to us straightaway too, so you can let us know if it’s fine to go ahead. We’ll also send you account or payment updates, as well as other useful info. |
View PIN | View your PIN easily within the app. |
Spending breakdown | See what you’re spending your money on- then compare over time, and spot where you could save money. |
Replace a damaged card | Report your card as damaged and order a replacement through the app. |

Our new authentication method in our app means you won't need to use a card reader to make payments.

Securely bank where you want, when you want.
Get the app from the App Store on an Apple device or from Google Play on an Android device.
You'll only need your online banking details to log in. Or you can use your Nationwide account details to register once you're in the app.
To use our Banking app, your device must be running Android TM 7.0 or higher, or Apple iOS 14 or higher. Beta versions of operating systems are not supported.
